RE:  VOCATIONAL STUDENT ATTENDANCE IN TERM 4

All Year 11 Vocational students are expected to attend Australind Senior High School until the end of Week 7, Term 4. This will allow students to complete required units of competency for Certificate courses, and complete any outstanding assessment tasks in their General courses.

Students studying Year 11 ATAR Mathematics Applications will be required to sit this exam on Monday 24 October.  Students will not be required to attend school on the day of their Maths exam, but will be required to attend all other days. Students are required to attend in school uniform and arrive early. This exam will be conducted in EW 3 and 4 unless advised otherwise.

Vocational students studying ATAR Mathematics Applications will receive exam feedback and begin lessons for Year 12 Mathematics Applications from Monday 31 October. Classes will continue with the Year 12 program until Friday 25 November, which marks the last day of school for all Year 11 students.

By beginning the Year 12 program early for Mathematics Applications we believe that students will be better prepared, have more time to complete their course and thus have more revision time toward the end of 2023.  Consequently, these 4 weeks will be a period of formal study with an assessment component that will comprise a part of their Year 12 course grade.

Students that are not continuing with their current courses or at risk of not completing Year 11, will need to meet with myself, Mr Hillier or Mr Blackmore to discuss what they need to do to best prepare for 2023. You may also be asked to attend a meeting at the school to discuss a plan of action.

I have attached the resource list requirements for Vocational courses to this letter. It would be desirable if your child is studying Year 12 Mathematics Applications to have this Year 12 book arrive by the Monday 31 October, before Year 12 course commencement, so orders will need to be made to Campion Educational Supplies by Friday 7 October 2022. All other course requirements can be purchased at a later date.

Should you have any questions in regards to any of the points covered in this letter, please feel free to contact me on 9797 4400.

Yours sincerely

Dear Parents/Carers

RE:  START OF YEAR 12 ATAR STUDIES DURING TERM 4 2022

As you may be aware, Year 11 ATAR students will undertake their internal exams during Week 3 of Term 4.

The Year 11 ATAR Exams will commence on Friday, 21 October and conclude on Thursday, 27 October.  Students are required to attend in school uniform and arrive early.  All exams will be conducted in EW 1 and 2 unless advised otherwise.

Students must be at school on Monday, 31 October to receive exam feedback and begin lessons for Year 12 ATAR courses.  Classes will continue with the Year 12 program until Friday, 25 November, which marks the last day of school for all Year 11 students.  A very few students may be required to attend beyond that date, to complete any unfinished assessments.

By beginning the Year 12 program early we believe that students will be better prepared, have more time to complete their courses and thus have more revision time towards the end of 2023.  Consequently, these 4 weeks will be a period of formal study with an assessment component that will comprise a part of their Year 12 course grade.

Students that are not continuing with their current courses will need to meet with myself, Mr Hillier or Mr Blackmore to discuss what they need to do to best prepare for 2023.  If there are concerns regarding your child’s progress, you may be asked to attend a meeting at the school to discuss a plan of action.

I have attached the resource list requirements for ATAR courses to this letter.  It would be desirable to have these Year 12 books arrive by the Monday, 31 October before Year 12 course commencement, so orders will need to be made to Campion Educational Supplies by Friday 7 October 2022.

Should you have any questions in regards to any of the points covered in this letter, please feel free to contact me on T: 97974400.
