From the Principal – Wearing a Face Mask

Theย Face Covering Directions (No 4)ย requires anyone that has been in the Perth or Peel regions in the last 14 days to wear a face mask for a further 14 days, from the last day they were in the region. For example, if you were in Perth or Peel on 2 May 2021, you will be required to wear a mask as per the requirements outlined below, until the 16 May 2021.

Masks are required to be worn by all staff at all schools and secondary school students, unless the person:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย has a physical, developmental or mental illness, injury, condition or disability which makes wearing a face covering unsuitable;

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย is communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing and visibility of the mouth is essential for communication;

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย is engaged in strenuous or vigorous exercise; or

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย is consuming food, drink or medicine, provided that they are seated at the time.

Students and staff are not required to provide a medical certificate if they have a physical, developmental or mental illness, injury, condition or disability which makes wearing a face covering unsuitable.

From the Principal – Important Update

Dear Parents

We have just had the most recent update from the Department of Education based on the recent health advice linked to the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Please note:ย If you have visited the Perth and or Peel region on or after the 17thย of April, 2021 then you will be required to wear a mask. This applies to both indoor and outdoor aspects of the site. This will also apply to our students as they are over 12 years of age.

If a student has attended a notified hotspot, then they must get tested and quarantine for 14 days. Please notify the school if this applies to a student that is enrolled at Australind SHS.

You can access the latest health advice atย https://www.wa.gov.au/government/covid-19-coronavirus

Further relevant updates will be made available once they are released.
