Dear Parent/Carer,
Further to previous COVID-19 communications, you may have again seen the announcement by the Premier of the move to higher caseload setting arrangements now being in place at Level 2 across WA as of Thursday 3rd March 2022. This includes additional measures to keep our schools open and providing face-to-face learning.
At the time of writing this new information, the School Ball is still able to proceed and the following detail continues to be important when considering if your child wishes to participate. All of the conditions in the original agreement remain a requirement of being able to participate in the 2022 ASHS School Ball along with the information in this letter.
When students arrive, it is essential that parents and carers remain behind the barriers that will be set up to ensure that there is a safe distance between spectators and students. Parents and carers will not be allowed into the foyer area so must remain outside.
There will be a registration area downstairs for the students to check in. The venue requires that all participants show proof of vaccination or a valid medical exemption (only via the COVID electronic or hard copy Certificate). A doctor’s Medical Certificate is not valid evidence. This applies to all students, teachers and other staff attending the ball.
In regards to masks, the following applies:
- When students are outside and exiting the car they do not need to wear a mask.
- From the time that students enter the hotel foyer they must wear a mask.
- Students can remove masks for photos but must put them back on once finished.
- If students are eating or drinking or dancing, then masks do not need to be worn.
- If students are going to the buffet, drinks station or to the toilets etc., they must wear a mask.
We anticipate that the event will take place as scheduled unless WA rules and restrictions further impact the venue arrangements.
If you have any questions, please contact the school on 9797 4400.
Yours sincerely,
