From The Principal – Student Start-up Procedure

2022 Student Start-up procedures:

On Monday 31 January students will be directed to attend a year group meeting at the location outlined below where they will:

  • Be provided with start-up instructions; and
  • Receive their timetable.

Once students have their timetable their teacher will take them to their classroom to commence the school day.

Year group meeting area reminders will be made via our public address system:

Access to the school canteen:

The school canteen area is designated an indoor area given its location, structure and function.

  • Students must wear a face mask within this canteen area.
  • Signage will be displayed and staff will remind students to wear their mask.
  • It is highly recommended that students order online and only move into the canteen area to pick up their pre-order.

Health and hygiene

Arrangements to reduce direct contact, enhance personal hygiene practices, and strengthen cleaning regimes in our school will continue.

Each person has a responsibility to protect themselves and others. This is achieved through the ongoing promotion of the following good hygiene principles and practices:

  • Staff, students and parents/carers must stay home when unwell.
  • Visible messages regarding hand washing and cough-sneeze hygiene and staying home if unwell will be displayed.
  • Covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, using a flexed elbow or tissue.
  • Disposing of tissues appropriately.
  • Washing hands regularly for 20 seconds with soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitiser.
  • Avoiding unnecessary physical contact and physical greetings (e.g. handshakes, hugs etc.)
  • Mask wearing is strongly recommended where physical distancing is not possible.
  • We encourage students to bring hand sanitiser and soap for personal use.

Summary:

  • Staff and students will need to wear masks indoors. All exceptions to this mandatory health order should be discussed with the school.
  • Mask designs must be appropriate for school and contain no offensive messages or images.
  • In circumstances where physical distancing is not possible it is recommended that masks are worn.
  • Our schools are ventilated according to guidelines approved by the Chief Health Officer.
  • Students are expected to bring their own masks to school.  There will be a small provision of masks available for students should one be required during the day.
  • Our staff will continue to remind and encourage students to maintain reasonable practices that will reduce any risks to their health.

All visitors entering the school site are reminded to:

  • Enter through the Administration entrance only.
  • Are required to wear a mask in line with the public health requirements.
  • Sign in with SafeWA/ServiceWA app or Mandatory Contact Register.

We look forward to seeing students on Monday morning.
