PSYCHOLOGIST

Our School Psychologist works with our students with all parts of their lives in order to support their learning, competence and resilience.

She provides expertise to support students to achieve academic success, psychological health, and social and emotional well-being. This is achieved through preventative and point of need services directly to students, parents and teachers.

Psychologists have specialised qualifications and training to assist students and teachers to maximise learning outcomes. School Psychologists use evidence based research and apply their expertise in mental health, learning and behaviour to meet the social, emotional, learning and behaviour needs of students. School Psychologists work closely with the school administration, teachers, students and parents. School psychologists help schools make improvements that are good for all students, particular groups of students or individual students.

Our School Psychologist works three days a week at Australind SHS. Referrals can be made by school staff to the Manager of Student Services, referrals are triaged according to priority and then actioned. Self-referrals from students are also accepted.
