Mathematics

At Australind SHS, we encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, abstract or spatial thinking, problem-solving ability and effective communication skills as part of our Mathematics curriculum. We aim to develop your child’s knowledge and abilities across three main Mathematics strands – Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Probability and Statistics.

Students will be supported to learn, understand, and recall definitions and facts to calculate answers and find solutions. Students explore, adapt and transfer various mathematical strategies, connect different mathematical concepts, and apply Mathematics to the classroom, life situations and the world around them. ASHS teachers use highly effective teaching and learning strategies and a range of tasks, with and without technology, to meet student needs in a safe and supportive environment.
