Leave Pass Procedure
How to sign your child out during the school day
To help avoid delays and ensure student safety, please follow the process below if your child needs to leave school during the day.
Step 1. Provide a written note
Parents or carers must provide a written note advising:
- the date
- the time the student needs to leave
- the reason for leaving school during the day
This note helps us prepare the Leave Pass in advance.
Step 2. Submit the note before school
Students should present the parent note to the Attendance window – before school starts to request a Leave Pass.
Step 3. Leave Pass issued
The Leave Pass gives:
- classroom teachers the authority to allow your child to leave class at the appropriate time
- your child the authority to be out of school if questioned while off site
Step 4. Signing out
At the agreed time, students will:
- sign out by attending the Attendance window
- then meet their parent or carer at the agreed meeting place, for example the car park
Step 5. Why this process matters
This procedure ensures:
- student movements are accurately recorded at all times
- parents and carers are not kept waiting unnecessarily
- delays to appointments and arrangements are reduced
